A Spoilt Party
I do not normally have boring Christmases but this year was definitely one of those. I was staying with family, as usual and did not expect it to be that dull. My family are normally interesting and fun but I did not count on a distant cousin who works in electromagnetic shielding to be there. I made a huge mistake, which I think my family have still not forgiven me for I asked him what he did for his job. I got a complete summary of the things that his company made all the details about thin film deposition and the advanced technology that they used for it and what his role specifically was in the business.
He then went on to explain all about a pioneering discovery he had made with regards to a thin film coating. He must have talked on about it for the whole day and every time someone tried to change the subject he managed to bring it back round to him again because he had not finished explaining it all to me. I know that next year it will be either him or me that will not be invited to the family Christmas celebrations, I guess I will have to work hard at apologising this year and hope that I will be forgiven.
