Buying software
I am setting up a new business and I am really having lots of fun with buying new things for the business. I know that I need to be careful because I do love spending money and it has been fun selecting a premise and sorting out the décor and the furniture and then employing staff members. I now have to get down to all of the smaller details like the construction estimating software that I need to get. I know that there are a few really good ones on the market and I am tempted to go for the one that I used in my last job because I know how to use it. The problem is that my new employees are all used to a different system and so if I get that one, it will only be me that has to learn a new on screen take off system rather than all of the others learning one. I think that they are more likely to be using the construction estimating software than me so I think it is fairer to get one that they know how to use. I just have to decide whether to get the most recent version or the older one that they are more familiar with. I think I might have a discussion with them about it as they are the ones that will be using it.
